FWT offer a variety of options with regard to water testing; from basic in-house to laboratory testing against the drinking water standard.These include chemical and bacterial parameters.
Basic water testing is undertaken in-house; this will provide an indicative value for the test. FWT can undertake the following basic water tests:
Our standard bacterial tests give an indication of the presence of E. Coli and Coliforms. Basic tests are charged per chemical test and per bacterial test. Please contact us for current prices.
Our laboratory analysis is carried out in a registered laboratory and is a comprehensive water testing service that can be used either in isolation or in accordance with your private water supply risk assessment. This tests against The UK Drinking Water Standard and our most commonly undertaken suite includes 24 chemical parameters along with bacterial parameters. Please see PDF below.
Typically results are available between 14-18 working days. If you have a supply that is shared between two or more properties or if you use the water for any commercial activity, e.g. Bed and breakfast or rental, you will usually require a laboratory analysis.
FWT also offer bespoke testing packages for legionella and for commercial site monitoring. Once the results of any test are available FWT will provide recommendations that take into consideration your overall system and water usage.
When testing the bacterial quality of the water whether a basic test or laboratory test it is vital that the sample is tested within 24 hours of being taken to ensure the results are within stability.
Our most commonly undertaken suite is detailed in the PDF below. Samples will need to be available for courier collection on the day of sampling, between 8am and 6pm. Basic bacterial indicator tests and other chemical parameters are done on site at FWT. We have an incubation unit and various photometers and testing equipment.
